Dr Karunasena Kodituwakku, UNP candidate for Colombo District, began his election campaigning from Kolonnawa today. The images below were captured whilst he was involved  in house-to-house campaigning on Avissawella Road. An unprecedented number of supporters joined him on the road.

Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku brings to the electoral platform a much-needed breath of fresh air. With diverse and long-standing experience in the academic, diplomatic and professional worlds, he brings to the table qualifications, not political gimmickry or intimidation.

It is Dr. Kodituwakku’s belief that Sri Lanka needs to focus on three major aspects to achieve the future its people deserve. First and foremost is the provision of not only equal political, cultural, economic and educational opportunities to all of its citizens, but also an atmosphere where everyone truly feels that equality. A second important need is access to education, and to the technological and scientific advances that happen daily around the world. A final major necessity is the establishment of a viable economic environment, which provides a sufficient income to its citizens.
